Khalid Thakur, Ph.D.
Khalid is responsible for the overall strategy and operation of Chemtos.
Prior to Chemtos, Khalid worked at 3M for 14 years as a Research Scientist solving materials related problems and developing new technologies in various fields. Prior to 3M, he worked at Cargill (now NatureWorks, LLC) as part of a team to study and develop poly(lactide).
Khalid’s expertise includes Structure-Property relationships, Analytical Science/Instrumentation, Materials Science, Chemistry, and Business Management.
Khalid obtained his PhD in Physical Organic Chemistry at the University of Minnesota under the guidance of Prof. Paul Barbara and gained Post-Doc experiences in solid-state NMR under the guidance of Prof. Eric Munson. He has authored 24 publications in reputed and refereed journals and has often been invited to present, publish and review as an industry recognized expert.
Andy Fryer, Ph.D.
Andy is the Director of Chemistry Operations at Chemtos and manages the custom-synthesis division. His responsibilities include interacting with clients regarding scientific aspects of projects and quotations.
Prior to Chemtos four years ago, Andy worked in the drug discovery arena working as Senior Research Scientist at Array BioPharma Inc. During his 7+ years at Array, he gained expertise in metalloenzyme and protease field and authored multiple patents. As member of the 'High Speed Synthesis' group at Array, he designed and synthesized numerous 'drug-like' libraries aimed at a broad range of biological targets. He also served as team leader and participated in collaborations with major pharmaceutical and biotech companies. He has authored over 20 patents and publications.
Andy reveived his M.Chem. and D.Phil. degrees in organic chemistry from the University of Oxford in U.K. under the supervision of Prof. Sir Jack E. Baldwin, FRS. He then spend two years at the University of Texas at Austin doing postdoctoral research with Prof. Stephen F. Martin.
Ryan Huddleston
Ryan is responsible for leading the Science Operations function at Chemtos. He oversees the daily science and research and development activities as well as interacting with clients about projects and quotes.
Prior to Chemtos, Ryan worked as a business consultant and private inventor. During this period Ryan received a patent for the development of an improved method for the production of fexofenadine. In a previous role Ryan was a senior scientist in the pharmaceutical contract industry, where he was responsible for the development of synthetic methodology for the production of isotopically labeled pharmaceutically active compounds.
Ryan has a Master of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in organic chemistry and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a major in chemistry. During this period Ryan authored numerous scientific articles and reviews.
Jason Fink
Jason is responsible for leading the Business Operations function at Chemtos.
Prior Chemtos, Jason worked for a Fortune 500 telecommunications company in the areas of corporate development (mergers and acquisitions), product strategy & development, project management, and accounting.
Jason has a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.
Jason is currently on the Board of Directors for a local non-profit animal shelter.
